Sitting, Dejected — Again

Tonight, I saw Broken Flowers. It stars Bill “Sitting, Dejected” Murray as Ben Stiller’s character in The Royal Tennenbaums. I mean, not really as Ben Stiller’s character in TRT, but he wears the warmups a lot. You might remember Bill Murray, because he is the same guy in Sofia Coppola’s masterpiece Lost In Translation:

As this review points out, “A sort of minimalist male melodrama, Broken Flowers tracks a journey through regret and hope. This almost comes as a surprise, for at its start, the film doesn’t seem to be headed anywhere, in part because Bill Murray’s got the stuck on the sofa look down.”
If you’re thinking about seeing BF, you might be better off renting LOT and watching it again. It shouldn’t have been possible, but Bill Murray was typecast.
