Well, you all probably can predict that I am not as big a fan of M.I.A. as almost everyone else. And, although I’m a big fan of Diplo, I don’t hate M.I.A. simply out of jealousy. Part of why I don’t like her is jealousy maybe, but mostly it’s that Arular was overhyped and bad.
Unlike Arular, though, the somewhat-newly-released-but-actually-pretty-old Piracy Funds Terrorism Volume I mixtape by M.I.A. and Diplo together is pretty good.
The fact that Piracy Funds Terrorism notwithstanding, here are two tracks:

1. There is definitely a reason that the album was as popular as it was. It’s accessible, energetic, and catchy as fuck. I don’t disagree that it was overhyped (the poster in FYE was a bit much, certainly), but it’s a good album, overall.

Er, now it just sounds like I’m against advertising in general, which I’m not. The poster touted her as the “next big thing” or something. It was a stupid poster. Just take my word for it.

He’s right, though. Piracy Funds Terrorism is much better.
