A Primer on Iowa Social Conservatives

Before leaving Iowa Independent to head to DC, writer Ben Weyl, who has been our Christian Right correspondent, wrote a final “think piece” on the social conservative movement in Iowa. His coverage of Iowa social conservatives has, I think, been better and more comprehensive than anyone else’s for the past three months, and this culmination of his work is definitely worth reading.
Of particular interest, Iowa Christian Alliance president Steve Scheffler is quoted saying this:
“Giuliani will be an absolute catastrophe if he’s the nominee,” Scheffler said. “A lot of people in the movement are going to say we’d rather wander around the wilderness for eight or 10 years.”
