Is Dodd Pulling out of Nevada?

Sen. Chris Dodd’s campaign announced yesterday that it has added two new senior staffers to its Iowa team: Nikki Budzinski, who is coming from the IAFF (that endorsement has led to a number of press release-worthy endorsements and additions), will be their Political Director. And Joe Zepecki, who “served as a consultant to the Iowa House Caucus in 2004 and 2006″ (he worked for a mail house they used), will be Deputy Caucus Director.
The release notes that “Zepecki first joined the Dodd campaign in Nevada.” In fact, Zepecki appears to have been Dodd’s only paid staffer there. If Dodd is shifting his Nevada resources to Iowa, that may mean that we can expect another weak fundraising quarter for his campaign.
That said, with the primary front-loading that’s going on right now, Nevada may not matter as much as we once expected. It’s probably a smart move.
