As It Turns Out, We Are Influential!

I already blogged about the New York Times piece claiming that blogs in Iowa don’t have much of an impact on actual Iowans, but John Deeth’s liveblog of Edwards’s SEIU endorsement appearance in Johnson County raised my spirits a bit. Talking to University of Iowa political scientist and pollster David Redlawsk, Deeth writes:

We exchange grumblings about a New York Times article than noted that Iowans, particularly those at the Johnson County Dems barbecue, don’t read blogs. “Our research shows 22 to 23% of caucus goers read blogs, which was higher than I expected,” [Redlawsk] said. “It’s still kind of a niche, but… the people who MATTER are reading blogs,” he adds, trying to make me feel better. He’s more surprised that only 5% of Iowa[n]s have donated to a campaign online.

I’ll take 22-23%. I wonder which blog they are most likely to read?
